Hi all,

Removing my front bumper cover on my 996TT cab this weekend to clean out all the debris around my rads and air scoops. Had a great day last weekend cleaning out the rear drain holes and was amazed at the amount of crud from a 3 1/2 yr old car!! so i`m on a roll and I just love knowing whats going on in the bits you dont see.

2 questions, 1. once all the rads are clean does anyone think there would be a problem with spraying a corrosion inhibitor like WD40 over everything? just thinking about heat etc.

and 2. are there any fine mesh after market inserts around that can sit behind the stock grills to at least stop the larger debris getting in?

1. I would not spray anything on the radiators (or the condensers that sit in front of them). Any oil/grease spray will attract dirt and debris to stick to the cores.

2. Yes, there are a number of mesh type products you can use. The finer the mesh the more air flow you inhibit. Have a look at the racing GT3RS mesh - I would not go with anything smaller than that.

Where do you buy the mesh grills and do they make them for the stock bumpers?

I noticed the one posted is of a GT2 bumper. Eventually I would like to upgrade to this style bumper but I am not at that point yet.

Please don't take this wrong but have you ever though that with alll the money you have spent on that car that you could have built a GT3 RSR cup car?

Thanks, but not everbody loves the track...I prefer speed in a CAB!
