What Pressure?

Anyone know what the recommended pressure is for the emergency spare and is it different for front or rear fitting?

From the owner manual:

for Carrera / Targa models: 60 PSI

for Carrera 4 / 4S models: 36 PSI

no mention of any pressure difference F/R

Thanks for the information, I couldn't locate it in my C2S manual. That's a huge difference between the Targa and C4 models - wonder why that is.

I did not noticed you were asking for 997 ! , the pressure I listed are for the 996s !!

anyway, from the 997 owner manual: it seems Porsche provide a tire sealant kit instead of spare wheel

they mention a optional collapsible spare wheel ( I suppose that's the one you have ?!)

pressure should be mentionned on the pressure plate located on your driver's door aperture

I don't expect there to be any difference between 996 and 997 I'm sure the emergency spare that I have is common to both. No mention of emergeny spare on the door plate just sealant, speed <80 km/hr.

If you put an emergency spare in a 997 - then it is a 996 part. So the pressure is the same.

On reflection I think that 996 Targa 60psi pressure must be for storage of a non-collapsible spare and that 36psi is probably the correct road use pressure.
