Hey,

I'm going to perform a center console removal this week in order to paint it, and I have a question regarding how to remove the center console on a Boxster S with Tiptronic. The instructions for replacing the B&M short shifter show you how it's done on a manual, but the tiptronic is buggin me because the shifter is so big and I can't lift the "boot" off the shifter (step 1!). Is there any way to take off the knob on the shifter of a Tiptronic, in order to take off the boot so I can finally go to step two? Thanks in advance, I love this forum  .

1. Lever off locking button with an a hard plastic tool (to prevent scratches). The locking button must be pressed so that the pipe section can be inserted between the shift lever and the locking button. To do this, turn the ignition key to "1" position.

2. Remove the compression spring (1) and spring clip (2)and pull off the selector knob.

Install is the reverse. Make sure you fit the conical compression spring with the small diameter facing the guide peg.
