Product Improvement Campaign?

Just got a letter today stating that my "Porsche automobile may benefit from a product improvement campaign". Too late to call them tonight, so I was wondering if anyone else has received a letter like this.. Is this Porsche's term for a recall notice?

Sounds like it could be "recall" from the people who wrote "Consider the mileage with remaining fuel"!

A Porsche "Workshop Campaign" is not a recall.

It is a Porsche (voluntary) campaign to fix a number of minor issues in a number of cars. Sometime these are VIN specific and sometimes they are not.

These are voluntary on your part also. You do not have to go in and have these items fixed/upgraded to current production levels... although I do not know why you wouldn't. These are general tasks that should be performed on any car (as specified in the bulletin) at the next opportune service.

In the TSB section you will see a number of bulletins with the number beginning with "W" - these are all Workshop Campaigns.

For example the 996 had 8 workshop campaign bulletins and the Cayenne had 19.

I got the same letter. Called Carlsen to find out what it ment. They told me that they want to inspect the vehicule to see if they are ooil leaks, I ask them if they want to check for a failled RMS, they said Yes. Apparenlty if the RMS leaks, they will change it. My car had its shre of RMS leaks, until they put a new engine in it.

The story changed, apparently they want to know the serial number of my engine. They told me that depending on the engine, they might have to fix something...

My engine was repalced, they originally put a rebuild engine (BX) but had issue with it (Vibration issues) they finally gave up trying to fix that problem and put in a new engine instead... From what I understood Atlanta still think that I have a rebuild engine (the one that are subject to the issue...)
