Hello everyone

I hope that this is the right area for this but Im new here.

My dad and I just got a 1999 Boxster. Man this car is so awesome.

We got great deal on it. One owner fully maintainted ect.....

However when we got home as we had to go to a city to find this we realized that somewhere along the way one of the light bulbs burnt out.

This car has the littronic headlight system setup from the factory so the lights are that cool looking color.

I figured ok no problem is a light bulb......Wrong

no one in the small town we live in carry it. The auto parts store could not even help us.

We called down to Vancouver (Canada) Which is 600km away and the Dealership said that the bulbs are 360 Canadian plus tax..........WOW

I pulled both headlights to make sure it was the bulb and for sure it was burned out as one of the bulbs was black in the middle

I wrote down these numbers off the Bulb

D2S 35W/E 85123

I Looked on Ebay to hopefully save alot of money and I see that there is a few sellers on there and its a good price.

The Bulbs look the same but they are

D2S 35W/E 85122

I guess it could work but I dont want to waste my time only to waste even more money.....

Has anyone here replaced the littronic bulb with the 85122?

Is the color different?

Thank you for looking

Yeah, that is what the bulbs are worth around here if you buy them from the dealer. A D2S bulb is a D2S bulb however, they are all the same hook up. You should be able to buy one from just about anywhere and get it pretty cheap.

It should look like this: http://www.cqlight.ca/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=132

Those are 5000k and stock your lights are 4300k so you want to either buy two and replace them both from CQLight or buy one from somebody who has the proper temperature otherwise they will look different.

You can also buy an OEM Phillips pair in exactly what your looking for here:

http://www.hidplanet.com/philips5000k.html

They are whats in your car now. They are sold as pair as these are color matched after a burn in period so you get a pair that really match.

From this link: http://www.hidplanet.com/philips.html you can see they sell the 85122 and 85122+ I honestly dont know what the difference is but based on your model number you need the 85122+

Thank you for your input

I orderd the 2 for $99 as that is really cheap when compared to the dealer saying 360 plus tax................ for one!

Ill know in a week or two how they look but as long as it is kinda close that is good for me.
