Hi,

I own a -98 996 Carrera, and I'm having some trouble with my AC. I need to recharge the system, which is completely empty, but I don't know about the quantity. I know I could do it the hard way by measuring pressure on the high and low pressure sides, but there should be some figure of how much R134a the system should be filled with?

Thanks in advance

Anders

900 g is 31.7 oz right. I just put in 22oz in my friend’s 99 996 and it was not getting cold at all. he was told the car took 24 oz I would think with 22oz it would cool some. I see the compressor kicking on and running but still nothing, I'm guessing it still needs more.

And, if you have replaced any componentry, you may need to adjust the oil level in the system as well. Porsche has a table that lists the proper amounts of PAG oil to add for each component replaced.
