Heater blower always on and oil filter housing tool

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to keep this **** blower motor off. I guess the previous owner programmed it where it always turns on when you turn on the car...I just want to leave it off and when I want it on, I'll turn it on...also looking for an oil filter tool. Where can I find one?

thanks!!

To turn the blower off -

- make sure the "Auto" control is off (manual is displayed) by using the minus button to lower the speed control until all the bars disappear and the display show "oFF".

The oil filer tool has been covered here many times - please do a search.

its a 99...there is plus and minus but i put it down to minus and leave it there (off) still manages to be at the last temp with it being on when i start the car back up...

Can you use the minus button to make it say "oFF"?

What year is your car?

I can't remember anything that is "settable" with the Porsche System Tester - but I'll have to look again.

Loren, don't have the OBC, at least that I know of. Though I suppose that it could be 'on'. How would I tell?
All 986 and 996 had OBC. If you ordered it from the factory (or your dealer installed it) then you got a 4th steering wheel stalk.

It can be "turned on" on any 986 or 996 using as PST2. I did so on mine, so now I have the outside temperature displayed in my cluster.

I am just wondering if there is any relation between the OBC being on and being able to have full control of the AC/Heating. As I said when I turn mine off it stays off - and I have OBC on.

If I can get to my PST2 I try to do some checking tomorrow (or Saturday - since they are painting in my house tomorrow I may not have access to my PST2).
