My co-workers and I were having a discussion on the cost of engines and the subject of Porsches came up. Just how much does it cost for a brand new 3.6L with Egas on a manual tranny 2003 C4S cost with out labor? TIA!

'$21,509.08 uninstalled' This sounds like the MSRP with no discount. My 00 cab, before I got it, got a new 3.4L engine from Porsche. I had them pull all the records on the car before i bought it, and I saw the price that Porsche would have billed the dealership, but they waived the charges since it was the RMS issue and Porsche was aware of it.

So the price of a 3.4L Enginer that I recall was around $7000 and change. Ofcourse that was the cost to the dealership.

I can't imagine a 3.6 so much more, May be 3-4K more then the 3.4L

They gotta be making 100% margins on these babies.

I wonder if the $7k price reflects a "core" exchange and the 21k price is a purchase with no engine returned.

7K+ Pirce was I believe with the core exchange. I saw the words 'core exchange' on the paper work.
