I drive my 2001 Boxster like many others, mostly to work and back with a little spirited driving. I dislike the brake dust that I clean weekly. What pads are a good balance of clean, quiet and performance? Do they offer wear indicators?

Honestly the brake dust on the boxster is stuff all compared to my E46, Drive 3kms on that thing and the rims are covered in god aweful sticky black dust.

Boxsters breaks are more a greyish sort of dust.

Really depends on the compound you want, harder usually = cleaner rims but slightly less breaking performance.

EBC Red Ceramic are pretty good. They squeal a tiny bit under light braking to a stop. Little dust, work good when cold, better when warmed up. I like them better than OE in every respect, and they are cheap.

I use new Mintex red box semi-metallic brake pads for all 4 wheels....they seem fine with little dust. I also use PBR metal master (not deluxe) on my bmw and it doesn't produce dust like the factory pads. I am sure other brands like EBC would be fine. Textar is factory original and it produces a tad more dust than others but still tolerable compared to BMW factory pads. I would go with Mintex or PBR metal master.

I flip-flop different pads and also have the Mintex red box. The EBC Red Ceramics dust much less than the Mintex. The EBC greens are more street friendly (no squeal), but also dust more than the EBC Red Ceramics. My observation is the ceramic pads dust less.
