Routing a wire from the engine bay into the cabin?

I need to routing a wire from the engine bay into the cabin how is this possible without drilling... etc...

p.s. today we modified my mk1 exhausts with the bypass pipe, a bit disappointed, sound is o.k - not much louder.

The rasp has improved by the throatyness still not heard :(

Looks like the best option is a set of PSE's...

I'm interested to hear what the suggested route is for this. One of these days I need to wire up my rear LIDAR detector and would love to have some idea for a good entry point for the lead before spending too much time under the car.

Me too, I think there is a tunnel that runs through the car, ie the transmittion tunnel, maybe someone has some photos, diagrams or an easier route.

Take a look at the PSE install TSB. It shows a place to route wires through the rear firewall.

On the package tray area behind the rear seats which is directly above the engine, there are two holes (one on each side) that are plugged with rubber grommets. They are toward the rear outboard part of the tray area,, and under the carpet and sound deadening material. On the Cabriolet, they are in the area where the top is stored when it is down.

These can be used to pass wires from the interior to the engine compartment. Simply cut an "X" in the center of the grommet, pass the wire through and then dab it with some silicone caulk to weatherproof it.
