I have an '02 Porsche Carrera which had a CDR-220 with Hi-Fi sound package and factory CDC-3 Changer. I have installed a Traffic Pro II (the high speed model marketed under the Harmon Kardon brand in association with Ford accesories for their premium vehicles.) Problem 1 was it would not power up the factory Hi-Fi amp. Jumped the amp trigger off the antennae trigger to solve that. Fixed the alarm error with a properly placed piece of electrical tape. Last remaining problem is that it is not recognizing the cd changer. Do I assume there is an incompatibility issue witht he software version in the traffic pro II from Harmon Kardon and my cdc-3 changer? Or is ti just a change in wiring that needs to be made?? Thanks in advance.

I can't help with the wiring. I'm a few steps behind you.

I'd like to know the difference in a regular TrafficPro and this II model you're talking about. If you've discovered that there is a difference, where can I read about the differences, where did you get it, what is the Ford connection, etc.?

Any info you can share may help prevent me and others from making a purchasing mistake.

Thanks,

Dwayne

First I have heard about a TrafficPro II as well. The original TrafficPro used by Porsche is being discounted to $500 by an aftermarket company so I suspected there might be something new. There is no problem with the TrafficPro I know and the cd changer. Jeff

or becker.de I think it is the 7810....don't hold me to the number. Bigger screen, more in unit memory, faster processing and some features we will never figure out well enough to use. Where are the $500 Traffic Pros?

They're everywhere starting today. Crutchfield, Bavauto, Sounddomain, (.com) etc. They've discounted them to $499. in a move to prepare for a replacement unit. Hopefully it is the one that is like the European version. 16mb mem, faster processer, mp3 capability, dual illumination, etc. I'm not sure when this one will be released.

The "trafficpro2.com" address leads me to a TrafficPro with green lighting like the Ford units. I can't tell if this one has the newer features or not. Will yours do any of the things I mentioned above?

Sure looks like another version of TrafficPro. TrafficPro II. Never seen anything about it in connection with Porsche. But Porsche is a little slow for things like this and MOST has been out for a while - and Porsche needs to figure out that one out.

I cannot say 1 and 2 are the same since I have not looked at the specs, but then the front looks different. The face plate is fixed on 2 but you can remove it on 1. The buttons are different. Have no idea about 2 in the Porsche - try the Becker board. 2 may not be for our cars. Ford may use a different changer than the Becker. I bet they do.

TrafficProII is not compatible with TrafficPro (I)

I talked to the tech support and they explained that TrafficProII is a different version, made for FORD vehicles ONLY (I believe changes to the auxiliary control). All other users should use TrafficPro.

TrafficProII is NOT a newer version of TrafficPro, they are essentially identical.

I believe the non-yellow versions of the TrafficPro have sold out already, only amber remaining.
