Is this droning?

Hi,

Fine weather in Tokyo, so I figure I would do some fun driving in the countryside with my roof open and windows down. What happened was that when I am between 2000-3000rpm, there is this really nasty resonance coming from the car. This seems to happen only when my roof is open.

Is this what everyone calls "droning"? Presumably getting an aftermarket exhaust would eliminate it?

In most cases (that I am aware of) the resonance comes from after market exhausts.

If you have a stock exhaust then when you open the sunroof, open your side windows slightly and the sound should abate.

droning is a severe resonance that typically occurs with aftermarket exhaust systems. The drone is usually apparent at a particular rpm range (2-3K rpm) and is present with windows up and more pronounced with windows open.

Droning is the harmonic resonance usually from aftermarket exhausts. Does anyone have any experience with the Dynatech Vortex Cone insert? Wondering if it would reduce the 2-3k rpm drone
