Are they supposed to blink when I activate the directional signal? If they don't, they should!!!

:soapbox:

I've seen some sidelights that are clear, has anyone done this upgrade and was it easy?

I asked this same question about my Boxster just the other week. Discussion is at Sidemarkers as turnsignals also. The bottom line is that, at least for Boxsters, the side markers don't blink, they only light up with the running lights. Unless you're outside the US and Canada, in which case they don't light up, but do blink with the turn signals.

If you have wiring diagrams, you can probably figure out which connector pins make the sidemarker blink on rest-of-world cars. When I get lots of time, I'm going to look for a different bulb carrier (VW/Audi?) for the side marker that will light up with the running lights and blink with the turn signals. There's also a hack and subsequent link to technical discussion in my Boxster thread.

If you find any useful info (e.g., if the Tourag does something different) please let me know, and maybe there's some other VW part I could wire in.
