I ordered the GT3 console delete for my C2 Cab. Unlike when I did the install on my Boxster, I can't move the heated seat buttons from the lower panel batwing back onto the rear switch blank areas on the center console as the C2 Cab has the rear window switches there.

My solution is to move them into the front console as I have two blank switch spots there. My thinking is to put the left seat switch in the left middle blank, relocate the defroster to the lower left blank spot, and put the right seat switch in the middle right slot vacated by the deftroster. This should keep the symmetry of the switches.

When I moved the heated seat switches in the Boxster there was enough free cable to reach the rear position. I'm hoping the C2 Cab has the same "extra" available.

Some questiosn for the experts on here:

1) Do you think the heater switches have enough free cable for the move?

2) Will the defroster switch have enough free cable play to be moved?

3) How do you get access to the upper front center console? On my Boxster, I could pull the radio with the Becker keys and use that space to work. I wasn't sure if you can plug and play with the radio in the '03's as the anti-theft code is dealer set via the PST2 per what I read.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Regards,

Brian

1) Probably. You may need to re-route the wires through the bundle ties.

2) Probably. You may need to re-route the wires through the bundle ties.

3) The MY02 and newer cars center console is one piece (older cars were 3 piece). You will need to insert a plastic spatula into each lower side of the cover and gently press out. Then work you way up the side (bottom to top) to the central vent. Inside the center vent is a metal clip. Press in on the clip using a small screwdriver. Press and hold screwdriver upwards and simultaneously pull out the central vent with the cover.

The trim on a 2003 Boxster is also one piece. It was easy to remove. Just work your way around it. I started at one corner and worked my way around.

When we did a B&M install on Colm's car with heated seats we removed the batwing and then the connectors to the heater switches. The wires were long. You may have to remove some tape as the wires will be bundled with other wires. For the defroster switch see what I posted in the Boxster section about relocating the top switch.

I do not know what will happen if you disconnect a CDR-23 radio. We have disconnected the battery on 2 2003s and the radio worked fine when we hooked up the battery. If you are concerned then pull the radio and put a towel around it and leave it connected - then you will have room to see if the wires are long enough to reroute them. Jeff
