headlight does not want to come out

Recommended Posts

so i changed the bulb in one of my headlights the other day.

today the one in the other headlight burnt out, great.

so went to the store, got new bulb, and friggin headlight is not coming out.

i know that im doing it right, as i just got the other light out few days back, and just for the hell of it i took the other one out to find out if the tool is stripped by any chance...nope, works fine.

is there any way to get the light out from the outside? possibly sticking something under it and push that little hook?

any suggestions are appreciated guys.

thx

Unlock the unit with the 5 mm key and turn back approx. 1/8 turn to be sure that the lock not hitch.

Take an assistant on the front of the car to pull or catch the unit, while pushing on the back of the unit.

I hope its helps.

When you twist the release bolt with the tool, it should pop out a little but if you twist it all the way, it will sort of lock the headlight back in again, just turn it back half a turn and pull it out.

Funny enough, took mine off the other day to clean the small rocks out that somehow got wedged underneath it.

when I did change my headlight unit this happen to me and it took me a while to figure it out that when you turn all the way, it will lock again and it cost me a tool w/c is $20 @ dealer and found out that I could just use a reg. 5mm hex key :(
