Hi all,

I finally fitted my Bas-International top. It took two off us about 6 hours. Love it.

I took these photo's today at a Porsche club meeting at Salamanca Place in Hobart, Tasmania.

The Victorian Porsche Club came over to Tasmania for a run.

This is a link to all my photo's of the meet. http://stewartharper.gallery.netspace.net.au/album02?page=1

There were 53 cars in total.

A nice little collection

Hope you like them.

Really nice job, but where did you find instructions for this ?

Just used what I could find on this board. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10835

It turned out a great job.

A company in town quoted me $800 AU to install it.

Thats why I did it myself.

Welcome from Adelaide. Didn't realise that there were so many Aussie lurkers on this board (and presumably Boxa.net !

I have a Speed Yellow MY2000 Boxster S and as the plastic window will inevitably give up the ghost sooner or later I too have been contemplating installing the BAS top.

Just a few questions:

a. where did you source the top (BAS in UK or a local agent) and "emuchisit" (that's Aussie vernacular for non locals!).

b. any major problems or tips on the installation (i.e. things that caused problems or weren't covered in the installation instructions on the link you provided?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Thanks

I initially contacted Bas-international on their web site. They put me on to the Australian importer.

His name is Rob at Bas-international Australia.

8, 3 Dunlop Court,

Bayswater 3153 Melbourne.

Australia.

Ph 0397381099

e-mail aus@bas-international.com

Cost $1870 bucks

It was involved, making sure that it was spot on. 2 hours to remove the old one, 5 hours to fit the new one. Take note of how it comes apart!

Make sure you have some good double sided tape and sicaflex(very sticky sealing compound)

Wow, I like this hood, nice nice nice.

Do any of you know anyone that has fitted a red style hood to a black boxster?

I have a black boxster with full red leather and always wondered how sexy it would look with a red hood as well?

Cheers

Russ
