Hi all, I'm new to this board, but I have to say this is one very helpful board for porsche owners!! :renntech: anyway, recently I changed the battery and radio would need the code (which I lost it) just happened to have a alpine deck around so I decided to put it in... after everything works fine... but the only thing is I get that annoying static sound coming from speakers... does any one had this problem too? is it my wiring? (has to be, right? the factory HU worked fine) my car is a 2001 base model with the amp and door speakers... any one know a solution to this? any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!

I had a simliar problem on my99 Carrera.......mine was alernator whine. turns out the power lead was too close to the speaker wires. Try rerouting the power lead away from your low voltage (RCA) type speaker connections.

this worked for me.

good luck

thanks! I'll try this out first see if that works...

That should cure most of it. You can also add in a GLI (ground loop isolator) available at Radio Shack or Best Buy to your RCA leads from the H/U.

+1 - amazing what those wires will pick up! Good luck...
