ROW M030 ride height

Maybe someone can help me. I am looking at purchasing an ROW M030 suspension for my 996 C4 Cab w/ Tip. It looks like Suncoast has it for $1050 and Sunset has it for $975. My concern is from everything I have read it should lower the car 20mm in F, 10mm in R. I have seen this at both Carnewal and Suncoast's websites. When I spoke to Sunset, with the lower price, he was telling me 10mm is all it says in his book. I definitely want 20 and 10mm. Is this guy incorrect and/or should I just order from Suncoast and not worry about the minimal savings?

Also, I have install quotes from $550-$1400 with alignment. Where are people coming in price wise with this? It appears there is mixed opinion on whether to corner balance or not. I don't track it, just like driving it hard on the streets.

The kit is the same where ever you get it. Porsche claims 20mm front +/- 10mm. That is some peoples complaint about this kit, the lowering is inconsistant. As far as the labor costs go, that is all over the map. shoot for the lower range.

Corner weighting/balancing is not possilble with the ROW M030 kit or any kit that is not adjustible coilover. You would need to go to a PSS9, JIC, etc. set up to do that.

If you want to stay stock and go lower, look at the x74 kit. It costs about twice as much, but is from porsche, lowers more is coilover and is more refined and sport oriented. Look at Carnewal for the best price on that.

PCA has an "Excellent" comparison (IMHO). Much more detail and testing than I have ever seen (other than pure racing teams).

I had the US M030 as a factory installed option on my 99. I originally looked at changing it out for the ROW version but ultimately settled on the x74. I've been very pleased with the X74 but it is stiffer than a standard or M030 car. It rides very much like the GT3 cars that I've driven. Be warned though, it is substantially lower than either the US or ROW M030 (IIRC it drops 40mm) and you will probably have driveway issues on occasion, even being careful.

Oh, and the install is *very* easy on these cars. I did the X74 myself and had no problems. With moderate technical ability and a spring compressor borrowed from Autozone or the like, you should be able to do it in an afternoon, even with a number of breaks.

If you are adamant about getting 10 & 20 mm, you may want to go with lowering springs... M030, even the ROW flavor, seems to give inconsistant results in height. I got mine for the handling, and it delivers on that front. But it still looks too high, 10-20mm or whatever it truly is, it's still on stilts !
