I'm really have trouble sorting through all the stereo upgrade information for my basic need.

I purchased this winter the rear speaker shelf dirt cheap on scambay. Until I find a 6x40w amp I'm planning on running the rears from the head. A few on here have posted that that the head power is acceptable and since I'm only looking for a moderate improvement for top down driving this may solve my need.

What wire do I want (part number?) from the factory rear speaker box to the head, and what pins do I need to "knock out" on the head that I have read in posts.

Any other comments would be appriciated.

I take it you bought the storage box behind the seats that has the Porsche rear speaker kit in it, and now need the wiring harness that goes from the black connector that sticks out from the box to the back of the radio. If so.

Porsche does not sell it as a part. Becker does. You also neeed the brown connector that goes to the back of the radio and the white clip that goes on the roll bar. Becker has that as well. This will get you to the back of the radio.

The harness is not long enough to reach the amp. The Porsche rear speaker kit comes with an extension for the harness. I would imagine this extension is also sourced from Becker.

Yep Porsche box with speakers.

I have to get another cable (disc changer to head) from Becker so I'll bug them about the other stuff. Any part numbers out there from Porsche or am I just going to have to explain this to some poor sales tech? or is Becker really organized it what they designed and sold to Porsche?

I know it's not rocket science to hook the speaker wires to the head but the harness would make it clean and easy!

Somewhere I have the part number for the wiring harness if Becker can't figure it out. One of the local guys ordered it about 2 years ago. He also got the brown plug and white clip, but I do not have those part numbers. He said when he spoke to Becker parts they knew what he needed. He did not get the extension because he went to the back of the radio and not to the amp.

Becker sources the parts for the rear speaker retrofit kit sold by Porsche. If you come up with a list of Becker part numbers then let us know.

The male/female connectors where the rear speaker box connects to the wiring harness are attached to the roll bar via a white clip.
