I have just had a new fan belt fitted, the guy said that the tensioner was stuck and it was a hard job.

Now i get a horrible grinding noise but the engine seems to be OK!!!

The car hasn't moved since the noise started.

What could this be????

I need help!! :( :( :( :(

Are you saying that you had no noise before the serpentine belt was replaced, and only have noise after it was replaced. Are you saying the noise is related to the belt. Is the noise from the area where the belt is.

Hard to figure out a noise complaint over the internet. You need to supply a lot more information.

I did have a slight intermitent noise before the new belt was fitted, it was just a light knock and noise like a slipping belt.

Now it sounds like metal grinding and its quite loud.

The engine starts, there is no oil leak, nothing coming out of the exhaust and no pressure loss!!!

Do you think it could be one of the pumps or alternator????

I doubt there is a wrench still in their because the noise was there before the new belt was fitted just not as loud or constant!!

Is it easy to remove that panel behind the seats???

Sorry, I might be a bit slow, but why don't you go to a decent garage and have it looked at rather then second-guessing over the Internet and speculating about engine replacements?

Cheers,
