Can anyone help me locate a trustworthy and reasonable person to rebuild a 2.5 boxster engine that is making a horrible grinding noise.

It started as a very fine squeak and the occasional knock and now sounds awful???

Could it be the oil pumps???

Any suggestions i'm desperate!!!! :(

FVD does the conversions and they also sell the parts to do the conversion yourself. The installation hardware is $695, the air filter kit is $425, the Motronic DME exchange is $1500 and the headers are $1250. Plus the engine cost itself and the labor. FVD is 800-274-2220, ask for Bo, tell him that Tom from Sarasota sent you.

Even if you don't do the conversion, their catalog has tons of goodies in it.

I am just kicking off a 3.4 upgrade, and several others are working on them now. Check www.ppbb.com for more info.

Another thing you may want to think about is just buying a slightly used 2.5L motor, as they are pretty cheap right now - $2,500 USD or so.

For a 3.4L upgrade, I would plan for between $12,000 USD and $20,000 USD for a complete engine upgrade from a reputable shop.

I know FVD in Germany does them and JSeven, a member over on PPBB had them do his. He loved it and drove the car for 3 years with the upgrade with no problems.

Good luck.
