What to do?

Need some help... I have an 04 Cayenne with 28K and less than a year left on the warranty. I am trying to find out the service record for this vehicle. Has anyone experience the cost of maintaining this vehicle? Who has the highest mileage and what maintenance did you need to have done or that you do youself?

Hence my orginal question should it stay or should it go????

I bought a Cayenne S 2004 with 49K on it, the warranty expired on 50k. I had the choice to extend the warranty for another 3 years, for about 3500$ but i opted not to do so assuming porsche reliability. Most to my surprise lately(55k) i have been having an ignition problem which turned out to be(thanks to this site) the cracked spark plug coils. Since i know a little bit how to turn wrenches and not willing to shell top dollars for Porsche dealers, i changed them myself for about 350$( all coils and spark plugs). That's the only repair i had to do so far. In the future i forsee an oil change, air filter and so on, which by the prices you find online, should be ok. A couple of tools ( obd2/Durametric) would be handy if you decide to do the work yourself.

I would think you should keep your cayenne since it has low mileage. As for the warranty extension it depends if you are willing to do the maintenance yourself.

Good info - I saw the spark plug coil email traffic as well and was going to enusre the dealer check them out on the 30K mile check up. I agree the tools are needed - I can't even change my own oil without having the dealer reset the computer.
