Can anyone recommend a good battery replacement for my 99' 996 Cab? I can order the Porsche one but I am guessing that the cost will be very high. Is the international battery that Sears recommends fine?

Thanks

Hi, when my '01 996 tt battrery died, I went to [gasp], Walmart and they had the exact replacement in their store brand, right down to the vent. For about $60. Peter

I've always wonderd about that...the top end yellow Everlast at Walmart are judged excellent batteries by Consumer Reports.

So how has the battery worked so far? Fine I assume.

Just get a #10 or 48 series battery at Costco, its the same as the one sold at Sears for twice the amount. Its runs about $60. I'd run a Interstate Megatron for awile but it gave up and frankly I was looking to change after that much hassle. The one from Costco has been reliable so far. :clapping:

Do you have to be a member to get batteries at Costco?

I know you don't have to for prescription glasses.

So, if you are not a member, it wouldn't be worth it to pay $45 for membership.

I used to be a member for a while but stopped.

I believe you need to be a member. When I looked at the Sears unit here in WA, they wanted $120, so even with a $60 battery and $45 membership, your still ahead of the game. No affiliation, just satisfied with the membership.
