Thinking of changing my oil and have quick question...

1. I would like to know what you personally use to catch the 9 qts. of oil as it drains...? (Seems like a awfull lot of oil for a cheapo lil' standard oil pan seing as most cars only use 4-5 qts...)

2. How and what do you use to pour it into to keep from making a mess on your garage floor so that I can transport it to a oil recycling facility?

3. What retailer has the best price for oil? Kragen? Napa?, WalMart? etc...

1. I use a 10 quart plastic catch pan. Get the really thin one if you are going to leave car on ground. Advance Auto or AutoZone should have containers. Mannie, Moe & Jack in your neck o' the woods.

2. The pan I use has a large drain area with a plug in the middle. After draining oil into pan, pull pan. Plug back in and go to recycle center. Then remove plug on pouring nozzle at the top and dump.

3. Wally World around here. Plus they have it in 5 qt containers.

Our Wally World has a place in the back to take the used oil-free.

I got this 9QT container from WW some time back. It has 2 openings in the top to receive the oil and a threaded cap on the end to drain it.

I fill up the container and cart it off to WW to dump it. No intermediate transport required.
