I am having an odd ticking noise whenever the car is at operating temperature. I saw in some forums that this can be the EGR valve. The sound does get faster as I accelerate. It is very loud and annoying. I tried unplugging each of the two sensors on the driver side of the engine (near the intake manifold). The one clamped to the side of the manifold had absolutely no effect, the one underneath the manifold (seems to be plugged into some sort of filter) seemed to actually make the sound quite a bit more quiet! But even with the sensor underneat the manifold unplugged, there is still a noticeable clicking sound. Can someone please help me fix this? I am running out of ideas...

Btw, the clicking is coming from the passenger side of the engine. There is no clicking at all from the driver side.

Did you ever figure out where the ticking sound was coming from/
