GT3 motorsport RMS

Recommended Posts

I would like to know any feedback on this seal for the replacement of RMS on 996. I read it from the article about the "underperforming seal" and somebody suggested or used it and no leaks . Just want to know any follow-ups or anybody used it and how it works. no leaks?

Have had the new seal nearly 1.5 years now with no leaks. Seems overall it is doing pretty good from what I have read.

Had a new seal put in my '02 C2 1.5 years and 6k miles ago. No leaks to date. Boston area dealer service manager said Tuesday, when asked, that most recent seal, as used in my Porsche, has performed very well, with no subsequent problem in any Porsches repaired with it.

I believe the current best fix recommended by Porsche is the P/N 997 seal. I am currently using this one and to date no leaks after 3 tries. Don't know which seal the "motorsport" seal is, there's got to be at least a dozen different seals. They recommend the shaft be oil and dirt free and not to start the engine for either four or six hours after installation, don't remember which, of the new seal.
