Hi Guys:

Just replaced the ignition switch. I'm a heavy set person and had to turn in to a pretzel but, any ways, it seems to be working, however, with the key out of the switch the alrm goes off, like the key is still in the switch, also, the remote won't work and when the door is manually closed the passenger door does not lock, the radio does not turns off when the key is taken out of the switch.

Had a little problem inserting the switch and had to turn the key in order to insert it all the way. Think the position of the shaft, male in the colum, that inserts into the switch or the female part of the switch may not be in the correct place, would that be the case?

The switch is made in Germany but did not have instructions as to the position of the switch meaning if it was in the "0" "1" or "2" position. Reading instructions posted here it said to place the key in the "1" position but as stated above the switch would not insert completly and that is why I had to turn the key in order to get it all the way in.

Any suggestions, what is the position in which the new switch comes from the factory, "0" "1" or "2"?

Thanks

Update:

Noticed thet if the switch is pushed or wiggled from behind the "key in switch" alarm either stops or starts to sound.

Gues is a faulty new switch.
