I have a completely stock 04 GT3 and a buddy just dropped a set of 5mm spacers from his 997 in my lap...

1 - Is there space with GT3 wheels to "pull 'em out" just a tad?

2 - Are 996 and 997 patterns the same?

Anyone else gone after that slightly more filled out looked while staying with stock wheels?

Hi Dave..... I too have an '04 GT3 with two sets of factory wheels. I also have on the shelf a set of the factory 5mm wheel spacers that were delivered stock on the '99-'01 ROW GT3. I used the spacer set on my (now gone) '99 C4. I have not tried them on my GT3, so I can't speak to fitting issues. I do know that the stock wheels/tires on the '04 GT3 fit the wheel wells quite well, though. Note that the 5mm spacer set should include 5mm longer wheel bolts so that the bolt insertion depth is retained with the spacers. I would NOT run spacers with stock length bolts. If you try fitting the spacers, please let us know your experiences.

Hi,

I installed 5mm spacers on my 997 S. The spacers came

with longer bolts. I would install them if you have the

longer bolts. Just adds that little bit to the handling.

The spacer set does include longer bolts, so that's not an issue (although I'm assuming his wheel locks are different than mine, sI'll need a key). Guess I just need to give a whirl... It might be a while, but I'll try and remember to report back.

Right Loren, thanks. I simply meant that the longer locks that he handed over will require a different key than mine, so I'll need to pick one up.

The longer bolt set that comes with the 5 mm spacers includes longer wheel lock bolts. At least it did last time I saw the kit.
