Help - 993 Bonnet Release cable

I have a 1998 Carrera 4S and the bonnet release cable has either broken or become detatched(more likely) so I can't open the bonnet. Is there an emergency. Could anyone advise on how I might sort this out. Any help greatly appreciated

According to my information sources, there is an emergency release cable located under the wheel liner of the left front wheel. Jack it up, remove wheel and liner, and it should be braided steel cable with a loop in the end. Give it a pull. I have never attempted this. Good luck!
