Hey Guys,

My 01 996TT's climate control fan seems to be sqeeking intermittently. I'd like to remove it and either lubricate the bearing or replace it altogether. Did a search but couldn't find what I needed.

Where is the climate contro fan located?

How is it accessed- under dash or through trunk- schematic would be great!

Thanks in advance

ended up figuring it out by myself. The fan is located in the passenger foot well- just remove a couple of screws to remove the access plate and it is right there. I removed the fan and tried to oil it. It was quiet for about a week but then started squeeking again. I called my local dealer and was quoted a price of $495 for a new replacement blower/ fan motor. Luckily, I was able to find the same part over the internet for $325. Pays to shop around.

Regards

Sameer
