Dear all,

I have recently had the opportunity to do fast toll road runs between here and the airport on sunny Costa del Sol AP7. Basically it is a well maintained toll road with no speed traps and little traffic. The locals won't pay to use this road - it's only trhe Brots and Germans so standard of driving is relatively high!!

I have found that after 220 Km/h (140 mph) my car simply feels unsafe whereas fast audis screem past me.

Is this because I have a cabriolet?? i.e. would the higher torsional stiffness of the coupe make things feel safer at speeds above 220/140mph??

I would be interested to hear anyone's considered viewpoint.

Sorry UK, meant "the Brits and Germans"!!!

Aerodynamics start playing a major roll at those speeds, and so the little pieces of plastic that you may or

may not have may influence how the car feels like. You may also want to make sure your alignment is ok.

If it's off, the car may feel unstable.

Mine goes quite comfortably at 140 with plenty more to spare. I max-clocked it to 175 while in Spain in 2005 with the top down and my wife in the car!!!! she was solid as a rock. The only problem I had was my missus screaming down my ear ;)

Must be tracking or even tyres. Also I not there is a hell of a camber on those spanish roads.

Cheers thanks. I need a new set of rubber anyway so will get tyre lads to do full tracking. Currently using 750ml of Mobil oil for every 1,000Kms, albeit hard driving in Spanish climate. Garage says this is high consumption BUT not above Porsche accepted limits.

Comments anyone?

That's quite high.

I still have an RMS leak and I rarely have to top up my oil even after 5000 miles, albeit I change the oild every 5000 miles or so.
