Hi All!

I purchased a 2005 S which had the rear tire carrier already on it (added by the dealer for the previous owner). When I got it I noticed it was very hard to close the rear hatch without slamming it (my wife cannot do it). it just came back from the dealer for this problem and a couple of others (which they took care of) but the rear hatch still does not close.

It looks like the automatic pull down is not operational. They are claiming that the rear tire carrier somehow does not allow the pull down to operate...

Anybody have experience or advice??

Thanks!

Eric.

Hello

The switch inside the lower rotationpoint of the carrier is probably faulty, no communication carrier - hatch.

Success.

Hi,

Just to let you all know, the dealer found that the the reason for the operational difficulty was that a control code, IN THE SUNROOF, was not set properly to allow for the rear hatch hold down to work.

The only way they found it was by having another customer's Cayenne with a FACTORY installed tire carrier side-by-side with mine and comparing codes for several hours...

At least its fixed...

Eric.
