TSB/Fix or the such for NOISY WIPERS

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. My wipers make a horrible sound when operating that I hate even using them in the rain! The best way to describe the sounds is the sound a wiper would make on the windshield with NO water at all on it. 100% dragging/grinding friction sound.

Anybody experience this?

FYI

05 Pepper

TSB(s):

4/05 9227 Replace Front Wiper Blades Before Customer Delivery -- dated 4-12-2005

10/05 9260 Improving Windshield Wiper Efficiency -- dated 12-15-2005

20/05 W603 – Replacing Windshield Wiper Arms (Workshop Campaign) -- dated 10-07-2005

21/05 W605 – Replacing Windshield Wiper Blades (Workshop Campaign) -- dated 11-01-2005

Or you could have just gone to the Cayenne TSBs and searched on "wiper" ;)

Actually I did go through the TSB files and but stupidly I passed on those since it just said "replace" and I assumed it would say something like "Repair Piece of Crap Non-Functional Wipers that were an Afterthought" TSB :)

Time to go actually read them.

Ron....the blades have done this since new and have had the Pepper for a year.

It seems that nothing makes a difference, it's been an annoyance since I bought mine three years ago. I complained again last time and got charged for a new set, didn't notice 'til I left the dealership. They are quiet after the detail I usually have done, but eventually that Rain-X wears off and the scuffing noise returns.

I'll be bitching when I return later this month.

I haven't done this as mine don't scrape yet, but some have just bent the wiper arm a little to change the angle of the blade on the windshield. There's a rumour that part of the Porsche offficial fix is to do that- just bend the wiper arm...

So I got the Pepper back from the dealer yesterday and had the wipers examined. The ticket says "Wiper Blade Removed +Reinstd" as well there is a part number so I assume they put new ones in. The sound is 100% gone!!! They are as quiet as can be :)

FYI, the part number is "955 628 939 01 WIPER BLADE SET DRIV"

My dealer told me they have had alot of problems with noise and less than steller "wiping" from the wipers. So they have "adjusted" the angel of attack and replaced the blades on MANY of them.

I just had my 05 CS in for several things including the Wipers (Driver Side). They told me that they changed the pressure on the drivers side arm and that seams to have fixed it (used the wipers much of the weekend and today...)

Eric. :notworthy:
