How does the center AC vent module come out? I have a nasty rattle back there I want to have a closer look at.

1. With a screwdriver through the top air slot, release the left and right retaining clip A and pull the air vent out of the dashboard.

2. Pull apart the electrical plug connections and remove the air vent.

Installation is plug the electrical connections back in - push vent into dash until it snaps in place.

did you get rid of the squeak ? I guess I think have the same problem and want to know if/what you localized as the reason for the squeak.

I have a similar issue. I've pulled the center console stuff out and the center air nozzle. Still have not found the rattle.

By the way extracing the center air nozzle is very tricky. Finding exactly the right place to insert a screwdriver and pull down the clips is difficult. I snapped off one of the clips in the process and now looking to find a way to rig a clip or shell out $260 for new nozzle. If I were to do this again I would not use a screwdriver, I'd use a small pick tool (thin wire with a small right angle bend on the end) to hook into the small hole at the end of the clip tongue and gently pull it down while pulling the unit towards the rear.

Still looking for the rattle.

I have not worked on it to fix it, but at least I already know how to remove the chrono watch unit. The pod is only snapped it into the dashboard, so with a pry tool it can be taken off.

That should be also a backup solution in how reaching the area behind the center air nozzle.

Will try to get the rattle fixed during some boring day in winter.

I have not worked on it to fix it, but at least I already know how to remove the chrono watch unit. The pod is only snapped it into the dashboard, so with a pry tool it can be taken off.

I've had the glovebox out and still to no avail. :-(
