hey guys , would like to hear some opinions on your everyday driving habits

, can these 3.4 996 really handle years of high reving fun with out spinning out the RMS every other month or the dreaded cylinder wall failures,

Yes of couse they can-its what they are built for. Mine now has 72k miles and lots (most) of those miles are at high revs/hard driving. As long as its serviced and you MUST wait for it to warm up then of course you can thrash them every day. The red line is there so that the engine cant be damaged. They set it at a safe level.

i dont drive hard, i have 20k and RMS leak. so there. RMS leak makes little difference though and the mechanic said to me that if you put less than 0.5L of oil per 1k miles for 996 you are ok...

Mine has never had an RMS and uses NO oil over the 12k intervals between servicing. People tell me that these cars like to be driven and I can see now its true.

im lucky to live i an area where there are roads on which i can red line my 98c2 almost every day....love the sound and the feel of it. but i have a new engine with still over a years warranty...i actually dont care if it blows. i wouldnt dare treat it like that if i still had the original engine in it though...
