P0056 code. Potential costs?

Recommended Posts

I have a 03S, with 42K. My CEL came on, and the OBD2 showed the P0056 code ( O2 Bank 2 sensor 2 Heater control circuit).

Does anybody know what could be my potential costs of repairing this fault. Engine is working prefectly, sound is still terrific!

Thanx

I think you may need a new O2 sensor. You should check with dealer first. Also, clear the code at Autozone or some place and see if CEL comes back. I don't know where Bank 2 is but I would change O2 sensors on both banks if CEL light comes back. But you can DIY the O2 sensor and buy generic part for $34.64 at http://www.speedyautoparts.com/find/index....p;model=Boxster. I know dealer part is very expensive (100-150 each). Do a search of the forum and get instructions for DIY. I think there are 4 wires and they can be cut and connected easily although I have not tried. Dealer part is just a snap-on but generic part is the same thing IMO, just a little hassle cutting the wires. Someone here may have done it and can certainly help you. Please keep us posted!
