Hey All,

Today I tried moving my HVAC controls down to the lower console, however they seem to be Too Big!!

I have seen multiple posts about the trim ring needed to move the HVAC controls down to the lower half of the console, but I didn't see anything about needing an entirely new lower console.

Does anyone have an exploded view (with part #'s if possible!) of the lower console with HVAC?

I have a 2002 C2 CAB.

Here you can see what i'm trying to do, and it just looks too wide (it wont even slide into where I want it!)

There are two "slots" in the lower console, and the environmental controls only fit in the lower slot.

So are you telling me that the AC controls will only fit in the lowest slot... if so, is there anyway they will fit in the slot that the thread starter is attempting to fit his AC control in?

Ok,

So today I tried to put it in the lower spot on the lower console. It still didn't seem right and wouldn't go in all the way. I can see where the slot on the bottom would go, but there are no side-slots. I can also see where the unit would screw in (the lower half has two holes).

I must be missing something.....

I have mine fitted at the bottom. It seems you need an adapter around it to fill up the extra space around it, that is what I have.

I'll take pictures this weekend to show what I mean unless someone solves the problem here before then.

The problem isn't that there is a blank space, the problem is the module wont slide in. I don't have a picture with the pocket removed, but you can see the plastic divder that is interfering:

Does anyone have an exploded view of what it SHOULD look like or all the parts I need to order to finish this up (without busting out my hacksaw?)

YES!

Today I removed the little batwing at the bottom and played around with it. It feels a little snug going in, it kind of gets stuck, I wiggled it and then it snapped in place perfectly! I re-routed the wires down and around the outside of the metal piece on the drivers side (which should fit behind the carpeted trim once I put it all back together).

So now I just need to order a pocket that fits the upper location of the lower console and then a trim ring to fit the HVAC in the lower-most spot. I found all the parts I need to complete this by using the SEARCH function. I wish I would have found the DYI for the Factory NAV upgrade sooner, it helped out quite a bit.

Thanks for everyone's help! (I would still be trying to fit it in the lower upper-half)
