Noticed on page 53 of the new Christophorus edition that Porsche shows a Short Shifter Assembly. Does anyone know of this factory shifter, and the price plus hours to install on a 04C4S. Like the idea it comes from Porsche and not aftermarket.

hey there,

it took me and a friend to install the short-shifter from B&M, dismount the center console to get out the shifter console took about 20min but and cutting off all the clips on the original bushing was hard job, as far as the installation manual say: "turn the bushing to cut the all clips", was that easy.

matter a fact, on my original shifter, there wasn't possible to turn the bushing to cut off the under laying clips, we had to use force with a hammer and screwdriver break off the clips from the bushing.

but the re-assembling of all parts were astoundly quick and easy, so all together took about <2hours

and the result, propably the best upgrade that I ever got on this car!

the B&M shifter feels robust and shift unbelievable short (u got to get use to it) and very precise, pure joy!

and the price for the shifter, hmmm.......why buy the original when you can get the B&M for 1/3 of the price!?!

cheers,

Tony
