I am the proud owner of a 1997 Boxster. The car is an extraordinary colour i.e. Blue/Turquoise (Colour Code L3AS). I can’t remember seeing another Boxster in a similar colour yet.

Is there any register or record available to establish how many Boxsters are around with this colour?

P.S. Last month’s Porsche Post had a similar couloured 911 on the front cover.Last month’s Porsche Post had a similar couloured 911 on the front cover.

That looks like Riviera Blue that has long been a Porsche favorite. I think it first became popular many years ago when Porsche was using very bright solid colors they refered to as "Gum Ball" colors. They included Red, orange, green, blue, yellow, white and black. I think if you research it further it is Riviera Blue, paint to sample, a special exclusive option.

Blue Turquoise and Rivera Blue (Smurf Blue? :D) are very similar but they are different colors. You can see samples of both on Yoseif's Boxster Gallery. Blue Turquoise was only offered in the Boxster during the 1997 MY according to the Boxster FAQ. It's not a Boxster only color though as it was also offered on the 993 during the same time frame.

There is at least one more.  I ordered - waited about a year - and then owned/loved a 1997 Blue Turquoise Boxster in California.  I ordered it with EVERY light grey leather option available.  They finally shipped it from Germany just before going on August vacation still missing 2 of the grey parts - they gave up and shipped it with a black convertible top lever and black air vent knobs.

About 4 years later I moved to Manhattan and had to sell it (Boo!).
