I've got Durametric software for my '00 Boxsters S and while reviewing a previously-pulled vehicle log, I found a line stating the following:

Radio Code/PCM Code 4096

Is this my radio code (to be used in the event of power failure)? Someone was kind enough to send me a radio code based on my radio serial # (which I still have not been able to test due to weather constraints). The number I was provided (with a caveat of approximately 80% accuracy) and the number the Durametric pulled do not match.

I have found no documentation on the Durametric site to support my hypothesis.

The radio code in your DME is programmed at the factory to match the original radio. What has likely happened is your radio has been replaced and no one changed the radio code information in the DME to match with the new radio. I would trust the code you have based off the serial number.

Just a thought, sometimes dealers write the radio code on the options sticker in trunk, especially if they have swaped the head unit.
