HELP Air Bag Warning lite on Dash stays on

Hi,

Just added the B&M short shift kit to my 997. Absolutely great. Also added the SmarTOP controller. Now the red AIR BAG warning lite stays on. Any ideas?

Did you remove a seat to put the short shifter in?

If you did so and the key was in the ignition (even in the off position) then that likely caused the airbag light.

Easy to reset with the Durametric Software or a shop with a PIWIS tester.

Did pull the center console and had key in to set shifter. Where can one get the software mentioned?

It will also tell you where (exactly) the fault occurred.

If you did not disconnect a seat belt connector or the steering wheel - it shouldn't have gone on.

The fault code will tell you.

IIRC, the Airbag ECU module is located under the centre dash in-front of the gearstick. Could you have possibly dislodged it or a plug came loose?

Thank you Order the dianostic software package reomended by Loren and will check that area as we did have the console off
