I have just received the connectors from my local OPC to allow me to fit a 4 stalk switch to my car. However, the connector I was expecting for the cruise plug is unlike the connector on the stalk.

I have attached a rough diagram of the connector ends, the left one is what I have received (yes it was in a packet with the correct 999.652.972.40 part number on it) the one on the right is the connector on the stalk.

Which is correct?

Looks right to me. I think Porsche get it from BMW, and I have seen them in a BMW bag within the Porsche packet! The pin spacing is the same, but it isn't polarised the same as the original. Take care when assembling it, as it's easy to connect it the wrong way round. It won't do any damage - it just won't work.

The problem I have is the plug on the left doesn't match up to the socket which is shown on the right. it seems that there should be a plug shaped like the one on the right.

The other option I suppose is to remove the socket and splice on the cables directly.

What would be useful is the part number for the plug shapped similar to that on the right.
