Hrmmm...i got some issues.

My new AP exhaust is coming on tuesday so in my boredom today i decided to take the old exhaust off and do some inspecting to try and decipher where the oil i see under my P-car is coming from! Prior to taking everything apart i figured i was just dealing with a RMS issue...now im not so sure.

btw...sorry about the crap quality of the pics. My digital camera is MIA so i had to use my phone.

The first 3 pictures are all from the same area, which is right below the headers/spark plug. at first glance the oil appears to be coming from the spark plug holes??? There is an actual "drip" on the header directly below this spot which makes me think it's a pretty significant leak. Any ideas???

heres the drip on the header! and a pic to the rear of the header where the oil appears to be running down to.

Round 2...

this is what i believe to be an rms leak...but there is ALOT of oil, it;s all over everything in the area including some of the transmission housing?!? It drips probably 10 drips/day onto the garage?!?

I suggest cleaning all the oil off the car and then start the car and get it good and hot. Park the car and see if you can observer exactly where the leaks start from.

If you haver a leak where the engine and transmission join it is likely an RMS leak or an IMS leak ... or both.

There are o-rings in the spark plug tubes. The early cars had some problems with those leaking - but your car is new enough that they should not leak. That is why I suggested cleaning the area and making sure where the oil is coming from.

Any good engine cleaner.

It is hard to say where you live - dealers here charge from $1000 to about $1300 and give a 2 year warranty. Independent shops charge less but usually have a 30-90 day warranty on their work.
