All/Loren,

About to purchase a 02C4S and am scheduling a PPI this week as a condition of sale. As a newbie to this forum I am open to specific suggestions as to what the independent should check as part of the inspection. With all the issues of RMS I am surely getting that checked ( as best as possible) as well as compression check of all cylinders, leaking seals etc. Car appears to have been maticoullsly maintained but my theme is better safe than sorry. Car has 22k miles.

thanks in advance and this forum has been invaluable in aiding me in my search for my C4S!!

Loren,

Thanks for the link to the Porsche list of used car inspection guidelines. I will use it when I visit the independent when he does the inspection of my prospective sale.

Interesting in reviewing the Porsche list it does not include a compression check of the motor?? I have requested that and indie says he does that as routine check ( recognizing the motor must be cool to remove plugs for test).

Here is the 111 Point Inspection sheet used by UK Porsche Dealers prior to issuing an extended warranty.

RIchard,

thanks for the UK list as Loren also gave me a link for the NA version. Appreciate the quick response and as I replied to Loren, it is interesting to me that Porsche does not perform a comtrssion test on the motor as part of assessing the engine "internals". As an old racing guy, it would be the first thing I would do to assess the engine general health.
