Research on diff between 2001 and 2002 911T

:o I'm new to Porsche and have been saving my pennies for a few years to get in on the fun. I've read some horror stories about the 2nd gear popout issue, and that makes me nervous as I'll be stretching myself a bit to get the car in the first place. :( I'm guessing that the car I'll eventually get will be a 2001 with around 40-50k miles on it so it will not have any warranty on it... I've been doing some research on the differences between these years, and cannot find much detailed info. I've called PCNA and they sent me brochures of each year and the most I can tell from skimming them is color options, and getting a BOSE radio in 2k2. Are there any other major differences? I'd read somewhere that there are upgraded ammenities in 2k2, anybody know what they are?

Porsche publishes a service information book every year that details the changes for the techs and dealers (fairly technical). For the MY2002 TT the book was 17 pages.

Some early 2001's had solid spoke wheels. The 2002 has a glovebox and Bose radio.

2001 doesn't have a glove compartment? Where will I put my gloves?? :P J/K...so all you 2001 owners where do you keep your paperwork for the car? What is there in place of the glove compartment?

Just the center console storage. Small but useful.
