The throttle pedal in my 2000 Boxster S feels like it is sticking. Not like wide open or anything. When letting off the throttle slightly it feels like the pedal is ratcheting. It is very faint but it takes away from how smooth the car is. Has anyone experienced this? Can the pedal mechanism be lubricated or might it be the cable? The car is still under warranty but I don't want to bother leaving it at the dealer if all I need to do is put a couple of drops of lubricant in the right spot.

I've recently noticed the same thing on my 2000 S. When driving in traffic and you try to accelerate slowly the throttle seems to stick a bit and jerk slightly rather than depressing smoothly. I'm also interested in knowing if lubrication is needed in someplace.

Thanks

If you remove the pedal - there is a single bolt at the top - you'll see a large hole in the underside of the pedal. Give it a spray with some silicone lubricant. There is a plastic cam in there that can get a bit sticky.
