Seems like there's some seepage. No drops on the garage floor or anything and it doesn't look too bad. But I was under the car installing my fabspeed by-pass pipes and noticed some oil. I took a pic of it. Anyone know where it might be coming from?

Thanks!

HiI had the samething on my 99C2 @50kmls. After much reading and help from the guys it was determined to be the rear main seal (RMS) and well the end note was if it is not leaking directly then it's not much to worry about. But if you clean the area and notice it leaking like drops then you should look into it but it is costly. JR

was scared out of my mind w/ similar leak which led to a few drops on the floor. Had my oil gasket resealed and engine is bone dry. Mine is a garage queen so it probably wasn't getting driven enough. I believe the RMS leak should be further forward nearer the axle. good luck.

The RMS or IMS leaks from the joint where the engine mets the transmission.

The best way to tell where the leak is will be to clean off all the existing oil - put some talc on the bottom of the engine and raise it on a hoist to see where the oil starts from (IMHO of course).
