I'm planning on an import of a us Boxster 2,7 00 to Europe.

Is there a big differance between the us and eu models. I noticed that the us models have four cat converters,is it like this in EU.

Also, can the cathalythic converters melt down inside and make a high backpressure.

I have a lot of sounds in my cats when I shut down the engine, and there is a lack of power on high rpms.

This clicking noise makes me a little bit worried, even if I just drive slowly around the block it sounds like I finished a Le Mans race

The clicking is probably

thermal expansion and contraction of differing metals at differing rates. My muffler/cats sometimes sound as if someone tossed a pebble at them when cooling down.

I'll leave the importing a base to EU countries to someone else who has done it.

Is it a permanent move to Europe? If so , I would sell your US version and buy a new (used) one in Europe. Prices are good in europe and you may well get a better spec car than the one you are selling. The USA cars may have a different emission level to Europe and there may also be other differences. To be sure of the exact difference contact your Porsche USA headquarters and ask about the differences between USA and European vehicles. They should be able to get this info from Germany for you. When i imported my LHD boxster from Germany to the UK , Porsche GB contacted stuttgart for this info.
