Have any of you installed the new OPi-P ipod interface by NA-TV? Is it true CD changer will not work when interface is installed?

I’m afraid so. Problem is this is how you access the ipod. You need to select CD changer on your head unit to select the input from the OPi-P unit. If you had both the CD changer and the OPi-P plugged in I am not sure what would happen. Why would you need both? Put all your CDs on the ipod and if you need to listen to a CD use the head unit.

I installed my OPi-P unit in the CD charger compartment so I wouldn’t have to pull the head unit. Just incase I have any warranty issues I can remove it in 5 seconds. It works really well and was very easy to install. You can kinda do it without any tools. I just used pliers to crimp spade connectors onto the power and ground wires. Then I plugged them into the CD changer cable already in the CD changer compartment. I plugged in the optical cable also in the CD changer compartment and the ipod cable and I was listening to sweet non-static ipod music. 2 minute install. Funny thing is the guys at the shop wanted a 100 bucks to install it… ;)

I bought it 4 weeks ago at Al & Ed’s Autosound. They had to order it but only took 3 days to get it. I little pricey but worth it to me. I paid $795 for the OPi-P unit.

Here is the wed site. I am not sure why its 1300 bucks now.

Following this thread, I think you were talking about a Cayenne? If so, how did you get into the cd changer compartment? I tried to install the unit this weekend and had a lot of trouble with the cd changer - it's so difficult to get in there. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there,

I own a 2004 Cayenne S with PCM. The PCM has NAV system but no AV option. The car also has a BOSE system.

Is there any way to make the iPOD work in my car? I have tried the FM modulator and the sound is crappy so I am searching for another option.

Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a new device coming available in the next few weeks, its just been Apple Approved and is in final field testing. Other devices share common problems, this one promises a much better solution. Watch this space.

Mudman seems to be the guru on this, based on his numerous posts. I bought the Dension Ice/Link Gateway 500 per his and others' recommendations. Haven't had it installed yet, but it looks good on paper. (get it at www.bumperplugs.com) Works for PCM and non-PCM units, also has Bluetooth capabilities with $100 upgrade.

I'm hoping my Dension isn't already obsolete before I even get it installed. I too am curious about what's coming!

There is a new unit out, I have it in my S, it by mObridge, I will be posting the installation instructions soon, its Apple Certified. I am running iPod and Sirius thru it right now but am adding its integrated "Parrot" bluetooth unit and the Video input shortly. More to follow but this unit kicks ***.

Is this the mObridge AUDIO that can be seen at www.mobridgeinc.com?

It works on Porsches equipped with MOST. Do you know if a 2004 Cayenne S (German mode) has MOST? What is the approximate price of the unit?

Thanks.

Yes the unit is from mObridgeinc.com, I got an early one. Its quite a device !

As far as I remember the S models all have MOST. Pricing should be on their website, but I think a group buy is in order at some point.
