(I put this on the 996 Forum in error.)

I have 2005 911 with chocolate brown leather interior and vinyl sun visors.

Can the vinyl sun visors be replaced with leather sun visors?

How much? Best source?

Do the leather sun visors have stickers all over them like the vinyl? If so, can they be removed?

Thanks

I don't know if they can be replaced.

Have you checked with www.sunsetporsche or www.suncoastporsche??

To remove the air bag stickers (on the vinyl visors), I used a cloth saturated with denatured alcohol. With a little patience, rubbing and peeling they remove with great success. To complete the job, just wipe down the visor with a good quality vinyl protecant.

Your leather color code should be called cocoa.

The sun visor mounting and the visors themselves changed mid model year in MY2005. The early ones were the same as the 996 and the later ones had a slightly different mounting and design. I do not know if they are interchangeable - so make sure you get the right parts (based on your VIN).

I replaced my plastic visors with leather, bought at Suncoast Porsche. Very expensive ($400+each). Look great. And they can order European visors without the stickers!
